Courthouse Farm is situated on the outskirts of the village of Whitchurch Canonicorum, I the peaceful and picturesque Marsewood vale. Village life is centred around the Church, Village hall with new play area, and Five Bells Inn, which does excellent meals. The Church is famous for having the relics of its own patron saint buried there and noted for its healing powers. Whitchurch Canonicorum is approximately 2.5 miles from the coast at Charmouth, which is famous for its fossil hunting. The beach is sandy and shingle; ideal for children. Lyme Regis is approximately 4 miles away.
There are numerous places to visit locally in Devon, Dorset and Somerset including The Chesil Beach, Swannery and gardens at Abbotsbury, Forde Abbey and gardens, Cricket St Thomas Wild Life park near Chard. The market towns of Axminster and Bridport are close. West bay is a little fishing and seaside port and the home of "Bridhaven" in the TV series Harbor Lights with Nick Berry. Golf may be played at Lyme Regis and West bay. Horse riding at Crewekerne and Monkton Wyld. There is swimming at Berehays cottage's pool in the village or at Bridport Leisure Centre. Walking is a very popular with local footpaths, leafy lanes and National trust Properties along the costal path where guests may walk to Golden Cap or move from one cove to the next. The Dorset and East Devon Coast is now a world heritage site.
